a very special episode.

day one
Friday July 8, 2005 6:00pm
I’m writing this from the special olympics bus. Its very hot on here, and the wind is blowing my hair around like you wouldn’t believe. One of the clients said: “nice hair” even they notice. I tried to call Darren but its like a wind tunnel in here and he couldn’t hear a thing that I was saying. I had to hang up and promise to call later, however, the girls have their first game at 7:30 tonight, its already six, and we just left Rolla so I’m not sure how I’m going to get a chance to. I was forced to cheat on my diet because they told us we had to eat at wendy’s or arbys. I was excited because wendy’s has good non-diet-threatening salads, but, then they said that b/c of time we had to eat on the bus. I can’t eat a salad on the bus, muchless on this windtunnel of a bus, there’d be salad everywhere. So anyway, I had a chicken sandwich and a diet soda and a small fry. Now I’m mad, really feeling the guilt. Oh good, a client is walking thru the aisle farting in everyone direction. Eew.

Last night I hung out with Nate at the club and things between us seem to be pretty much back to normal, finally, I hate that awkward period between whatever that was, and normal, but it appears that its over.

I haven’t been able to talk to Jeremy much this week, or see him at all. I’m hoping to perhaps see him saturday night, or sunday at some point. He’s been not feeling all that hot emotionally this week, and for very good reasons. The part of me that wants to help people feel better is desperate to make an attempt, the part of me that knows no matter what I do or say, that there’s nothing I can really do, is sad. I think that’s that whole Emotional Mind/Reasonable Mind thing going on.

Lexy asked me to lunch today right before I had to leave the house for this work trip. I’m excited to be having lunch with her soon, I don’t see her nearly enough.
I got an email from Christy in India about what she’s been doing, it is as follows:

Christy>
I was very excited to hear from her. I’ve tried calling her a couple of times very late at night in the hopes that she’d be awake, but I’m sure she’s quite busy, being in another country and seeing temples and all.
Well, I think we just got to St. Robert so I’m going to stop my typing for now and attempt to do my job, whatever that may be.

day two
Saturday, July 9, 2005
Well, its 2:00am on day two, and surprise!!! I can’t sleep. No shocker there. What the fuck is wrong with me? Who the hell sleeps less than 6 hours in a period of three days and isn’t able to sleep every possible second? Me. I’m SO very tired, and SO very wide awake.
We’ve got a game this morning at 7:30 and everyone has to get up around 5am to make breakfast and then be at the game on time. I’ve got to get a shower in, and get these guys all packed up and checked out. (I had them shower last night in the interest of time) One of my clients is having trouble sleeping too.

They’ve got us put up in a Fairfield Inn. I can’t be sure, but I think the floor between the beds was in need of vacuuming when we walked in, but, it could have come off of one of the clients shoes.

Well, I’m going to go lie down and at least attempt to sleep until 5:00. (I slept from 10pm-1am, at 1:30 I gave up to do some computing (I added Thursday’s pictures to the SoCo site) and to write in this thing, so I’ll continue to write probably on the way home from the games today.

6:34am
We woke up at five to both my phone and the alarm clocks loud noises simultaneously. Once I finally figured out where I was and what was going on (I finally fell asleep around 3:00) I got up and took a shower. We were supposed to have breakfast at 6:30 which wasn’t going to actually leave us time to eat anything, because we were supposed to be gone at 6:45, but it was ready by six, and we left our room at 6:10am.

Being by a military base is really strange, even at this hotel there are all kinds of people in uniforms. I’m very, very, very, very sleepy. My yogurt exploded all over me this morning in the breakfast room, and now I smell like strawberry banana…..I hope it doesn’t turn sour…luckily, if it does, I kept a t-shirt out to wear in case it gets hot……….or apparently in case yogurt explodes all over me.

3:34pm
Home again at last, and with a really big sunburn. We won both of our games, the girls lost both of their games. One last meal today, then the diet resumes.
